Ferretti 620: the coupe' of the Ferretti fleet
Montag, 30. August 2004
The Ferretti 620 represents a great design milestone both for the Ferretti Engineering Division, who cared for the hull and propulsion design, and for Studio Zuccon International Project, who were responsible for the superstructure and interior.
The tried and tested hull of the Ferretti 62' produced an unbelievable level of performance, so it was decided to design a new vessel on the basis of this hull that would, in terms of the automobile industry, be a very comfortable sports coupé. Sports car performance with luxury saloon comfort. This decision led to the birth of the Ferretti 620: open sports performance with classic flying bridge living standards.
The Ferretti 620 stands out from the rest of the range especially for its interior living standards. Ferretti has now inserted into its range an exuberant boat with a sporty and vibrant appearance that is still capable of offering a level of comfort usually found on larger boats.
The low profile and aggressive look are highlighted by a new side window design that, for the first time, abandons the characteristic "tear drop" shape, and allows for a light interior and distinctive and elegant shape.
It is the interior lay out, though, that the Ferretti 620 surprises us with it's new styling. This is especially so in the night area, where most of Zuccon Studio's work has been concentrated on the research to maximise living spaces and exploit the internal division of cabins. Surprising results have been obtained. The master cabin, positioned at midships, is exceptionally large; the ceiling offers very good headroom throughout the cabin so that it is possible to walk around the large double bed without having to step up. An amply sized wardrobe and large surface area contributes to greater storage capacity in this cabin. The first guest cabin, too, is spacious and comfortable. It is transformed into a luxury VIP cabin, with a large double bed and well proportioned private bathroom with separate shower.
The second guest cabin has parallel single bunks with a large private bathroom and separate shower.
Moving up from below decks to the day area, the harmonious details and styles of the living area that make it so hospitable can not fail to impress. The main features in the salon are the large "U" shaped sofa and the two seats that faces it. These create a conversational atmosphere that can be transformed into a dining area by enlarging the table. A second dinette is found forward at a higher level and allows you to eat, maybe with friends from the next boat, or participate in the navigation from a relaxed position. From the spacious and practical galley you can move down to the crew's quarters with it's single bunk and private bathroom, which can also be used as a fourth cabin. Although the boat can be run with just one crew member, there is also the option of a second crew cabin with access from the outside. Since the boat has been designed with a young and sporty image, the interior styling too had to be redesigned to have a more dynamic look. Apart from the new design for the cabinetry, more leather has been used on the horizontal surfaces, to make it less delicate.
As regards the flying bridge, it has become a magnificent living area with a spacious "U" shaped dinette and table, wet bar with wash basin, fridge, and grill snugly fitting behind the three seats of the driving station. The forward sun bed and a chaise longue at the side of the helm station contribute towards a comfortable and relaxing open air cruise.
