Ferretti Group: important development programme set in motion for CRN in the segment of mega and maxi yachts made from steel and composite materials

Montag, 27. Februar 2006

The Ferretti Group, one of the leading companies in the world within the sphere of designing and building luxury motor yachts, has set in motion an important strategic plan for CRN. The main aim of the plan is to strengthen the company’s competitiveness and further consolidate its presence in the segment of mega and maxi yachts in composite materials and steel. This programme forecasts concentrating on the production and sale of 3 deck yachts in composite materials and steel, currently measuring 128 feet and over.
Considerable investments have been made in the Ancona production site, which boasts a surface area of 80,000 m², and is currently working on an impressive 27 orders. In future, thanks to both the aforesaid investments and the production capacity the company has already demonstrated, CRN will further increase its ability to compete in the mega and maxi yacht segment with a production of yachts max. 80 metres in length. This will provide the boatyard with an excellent opportunity for increasing its share of the world market.
Within this context, Ferretti Yachts – the Group’s top brand, which accounts for over a third of the entire Group’s production – will become responsible for the production and sale of semi-customised yachts in composite materials with a max. 2 decks, particularly the Custom Line 97’, 112’ and Navetta 30 models.
These models are the natural evolution of the current Ferretti Yachts range (from 46 to 88 feet) and will be able to benefit from the well-established network of brand dealers, guaranteeing a more extensive, more capillary distribution.
“Given the opportunities which stem from the expansion of the Mega Yacht segment, we believe this choice to be a huge opportunity for the Ferretti Group,” declared Gabriele Del Torchio, Ferretti Group Chief Executive Officer. “This reorganisation will enable CRN to concentrate on achieving increasingly more important aims, and Ferretti Yachts and its network of dealers to enjoy new and indeed greater market satisfaction.”
“We are certain Lamberto Tacoli, Chief Executive Officer of CRN, and Fulvio Dodich, Chief Executive Officer of Ferretti Yachts and Mochi Craft,” continues Gabriele Del Torchio, “will face this new challenge enthusiastically, a challenge which will permit the companies they manage to achieve new, ambitious goals.”
