Blue Diamond: the new flagship of the 112' line
Sunday, February 1, 2004
Appearing this year on the international stage of the Miami Boat Show for the CRN shipyard is
the Custom Line 112#03, the crown jewel of the prestigious planing line first created in 2001.
"Blue Diamond", the name of the vessel, is engraved on the stainless steel transom
nameplate. At 34 metres in length and 7 in width, the boat can house a total of eight
passengers and six crew members. The refined, elegant taste of the vessel has made it
possible to combine an understated layout with a delicate interior decoration scheme studied
down to the smallest detail. A product of the synergy between the technical staff of the Ancona
shipyard and the Zuccon International Project firm, this mega-yacht, a perfect expression of
Italy’s venerable nautical tradition, has already garnered a string of successes in Europe.
Presented to the American market for the first time on the occasion of the last Fort Lauderdale
Boat Show, "Blue Diamond", the third vessel of the 112’ Custom Line, can point to a hull with a
seductive, powerful design. This sporting, elegant vessel ensures both top-flight navigation
performance and maximum onboard comfort. The layout is original and unique. Positioned on
the lower deck are two twin guest cabins with a separate bathroom, plus a VIP cabin that runs
along the entire length of the vessel and is also connected to a roomy bathroom, in addition to
being equipped with two closet cabins. The aft section of the lower deck holds one of the two
garages for the launch (the second, smaller garage is found forward of the main deck) while
the bow area, from which the galley can be reached directly, holds an ample crew zone that
comes complete with a comfortable dinette. The cosy, well-lit living room on the main deck is
outfitted with a bar and a dining area whose oval table can hold up to eight people, being
especially designed to allow guests to enjoy each other’s company. The style of the lobby, with
its two-shade marble floor, is unmatched. Completing the main deck is a galley equipped with
every possible accessory, plus a refined owner’s suite in which an elegant beauty cabinet
replaces the traditional sofa. The owner’s bathroom has two entrances and comes with a
central shower. Warm, muted colours dominate the boat’s interior design, which is perfectly
framed by the finishing in cherry wood and Palissandro. Precious marble and granite are the
underlying themes of the entire vessel, which is coddled by features that include an entrance
in Istria stone and a VIP bathroom in Azul Aran. The wheelhouse, equipped with the latest
navigational equipment and controls, is roomy and silent. With its more than 60 m2 of space,
the flying bridge is the ideal place to relax and fully enjoy the sea. The Jacuzzi tub, roomy
cushions for taking in the sun, chaise-lounge, bar and barbecue all face out on a breathtaking
view. And, while listing the most admired characteristics of the line, there can be no forgetting
speed. In fact, thanks to its two MTU 12V 4000 M90 engines, this flagship can reach a top
speed of 28 knots and hold a cruising speed of 25. During a number of trial runs in the
Adriatic, "Blue Diamond" travelled to the Croatian coast from Ancona in little more than 3
hours. The vessel is a full-fledged gazelle of the seas, aggressive and aristocratic as it cuts
through the immense ocean off the Florida coast.
