Ferretti 780: lo spazio secondo Ferretti Yachts

Tuesday, October 24, 2006

Ferretti Yachts, world leader in the design, production and sale of fibreglass flybridge motoryachts ranging from 46 to 88 feet, renovates the top of its range and presents the new Ferretti 780.

The new 78-feet (24 metres) model is characterised by a totally innovative interior layout ensuring ample spaces, and by the selection of finishes and furniture in teak instead of the traditional cherry wood usually used in Ferretti Yachts this size.

Entering from the cockpit in the Ferretti 780 salon, it is can be readily perceived that the layout of the furnishings endows the living area, fitted with highly sophisticated audiovisual equipment, with an unprecedented degree of comfort. The new layout, with the access ladder to the flying bridge built into the topside of the yacht offers an uninterrupted visual solution, from stern to bow. The dining area, separated from the salon floor by a step, houses a table for eight people, while under the stairway there is room for a wine cabinet.

From the dining area, it is possible to go starboard to reach the pilot house or the stairway leading to the lower deck; on the port side, we find a large kitchen with teak furnishings and a lateral exit gate that enables the crew to avoid the salon, thereby safeguarding the privacy of the owner and his guests.

The pilot house, featuring dark grey scratch-proof finishes, can be fitted with all the latest-generation technology that is the distinguishing trait of Ferretti Yachts: the Naviop control system and the Mitsubishi gyroscopic stabilisers. To the side of the helm station, a comfortable L shaped sofa enables the owner to share the pleasure of cruising with his family and guests. A pull-out table close to the sofa creates a comfortable dinette.

The lower deck accommodates the master cabin, located on the port side and totally sound-proofed from the engine room thanks to the interposition of the crew quarters and the tank.

In order to enjoy the two open-view windows with opening portholes - now a Ferretti Yachts distinctive trait- the master cabin layout (with the bed positioned in the direction of navigation, facing the entrance) presents a big sliding door in order to separate the bath area from the room. The cabin is then very luminous and it allows to view the sea while comfortably lying on a chaise longue or from the bathroom, equipped with a wide shower stall with a tempered glass door.

A semicircular washbasin, positioned in front of the open-view window, is topped by a double sliding mirror, that is also used to darken the huge window. The cabin, which is very spacious, includes a more intimate zone accommodating a walk-in-closet and a vanity with a pull out desk, while the bed is flanked by two suspended night tables, with reading lights built into them.

In the bow area, a comfortable VIP cabin is furnished with a double bed and two wardrobes. Two cabins with twin beds offer an interesting alternative for those who wish to put up an extra couple of friends: at the owner's request, the cabin on the port side can be fitted with a double bed instead of two single beds. Each cabin aboard the Ferretti 780 has a bathroom with a shower stall fitted with tempered glass panels.

As for outdoor space, on the Ferretti 780 there are plenty of opportunities to enjoy the sun in total comfort. The flying bridge is equipped with two large sunning areas - one of which is unusually large, the skylight having been moved to the broadside - a grill zone and a comfortable semi-circular sofa with a central table.
Astern, a spacious bridge accommodates a teak table with four chairs and a small sofa.

A further design innovation is the electrically opening stern gate, which, in addition to housing a jet-ski and a tender, converts into a beach lined with teak and accessible thanks to two comfortable side ladders.

As for performances, in its standard configuration the Ferretti 780 has 2 MTU 2000 engines with a power output of 1660 HP, for a cruising speed of 29 knots and a top speed of 33 knots.
