Ferretti Group brands earn NMMA certification

Thursday, February 15, 2007

Miami, February 15th, 2007 – Three of Ferretti Group’s eight Italian based brands have recently been certified under the National Marine Manufacturers Association’s (NMMA) Boat/Yacht Certification program. The models that have now earned the designation “NMMA Certified” are: Ferretti Yachts’ 550, 630 and 830; Mochi Craft’s Dolphin 44’ and Dolphin 74’; and Riva’s 33 foot, Aquariva.
“This new certification reinforces the quality and safety of our products, as well as confirms our strong motivation to satisfy the unique preferences of our U.S. customers,” said Alberto Perrone Da Zara, Vice President of Sales and Customer Service for Ferretti Group USA.
While all boats in the United States must meet applicable U.S. Coast Guard regulations, boats built by manufacturers participating in the NMMA Certified program must also meet the more comprehensive standards set by the American Boat and Yacht Council (ABYC). Furthermore, to become NMMA Certified, a boat must pass rigorous third-party inspection to ensure they meet and adhere to all applicable standards, as well as maintain an ongoing, formal Customer Satisfaction Index (CSI) program.
The NMMA Certification program covers more than 30 categories of standards, which vary by boat type and size and may include: fuel systems; ventilation; passenger and weight capacity; horsepower capacity; flotation; electrical systems; navigation lights; warning label placement and guidelines; and steering systems.
Ferretti Group’s achievements in product quality and safety come from the expert designs of over 100 specialized engineers in the Group’s “Advanced Yacht Technology” team, headed by Norberto Ferretti and Andrea Frabetti.
