Just Like Two “Formula 1” Motor Yachts

Thursday, November 26, 2015

Abu Dhabi, 26th November 2015 - Riva and speed, Riva and the international jet set, Riva and Formula 1.
A history of relationships lasting more than 100 years that will experience a new fascinating chapter by the end of November: the Middle-East debut of the last two masterpieces of the Italian brand 88’ Florida and 88’ Domino Super.
The deal for this “Gulf Première” could not be better: Abu Dhabi weekend for the Etihad Airways Gran Prix, last race of the 2015 Formula 1 World Championship.

“We did not wanted to miss Abu Dhabi’s most important sport event, the one capable to capture the attention of those fond of motors all over the world, enchanted by the fascination of speed, the most advanced engineering research, combined with the standing beauty of the Yas Marina circuit hosting the most fascinating event in the Gulf”- stated Ferretti Group’s CEO, Alberto Galassi.
“Motorsport world shares all this with yachting, together with the passion for cars and the thrill that it gives us. That is the reason why we decided to be part of this show and introduce, in the framework of this racing weekend, the last two models of the ‘stable’ Riva”.

After last May’s preview in Monte Carlo during the Formula 1 Monaco Grand Prix and after the following official debut at Cannes Yachting Festival last September, Riva 88’ Florida and 88’ Domino Super now arrive in the pearl of the Gulf: Abu Dhabi.
With the support of the local dealer Art Marine, these two Made in Italy jewels will be displayed in the exclusive YAS Island Marina - where Formula 1 circuit is situated - for guests that want to visit and get to know the unique world of Riva in first person.
As exciting background: the rumble of the fastest racing cars in the world.

And in the occasion of the Abu Dhabi Etihad Airways Gran Prix, the Riva brand is proudly displayed on both the helmets of the Scuderia Ferrari Formula 1 drivers.

88’ Florida
After the world premiere at the Cannes Yachting Festival and the recent American debut at the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show, Riva presents 88’ Florida to Abu Dhabi’s and Middle-East community.
88’ Florida is an open yacht and a coupé: two souls, entwined in one single, spectacular yacht.
Riva’s typically rigorous lines and the 88’ Florida’s own unparalleled elegance are made even more enticing by the yacht’s innovative ‘Convertible Top’ patented technology, derived from the automotive sector, creating the first convertible luxury motor yacht.
The new ‘Moon Grey’ shade, a light metallic grey that enhances the yacht’s slender lines, characterizes the slender lines of the first 88’ Florida, and is in pleasant contrast with the ‘Bright Black' shade details. The hull profile is really unmistakable thanks to the innovative-design continuous glazing featuring a stainless steel plate that bears the Riva logo in its central part. The large windshield and the steel roll bar complete this new yacht’s design.

88’ Domino Super
After the world première at Cannes Yachting Festival 2015 and waiting for the American debut at Miami show next February, 88’ Domino Super discloses itself to Middle-East Riva enthusiasts.
The 88’ Riva Domino Super immediately strikes the eye for its slender, streamlined profile, which is further highlighted by the color of the hull, a dark grey that has been named ‘London Grey’. The same innovative color shade can also be found in some deck details and harmoniously contrasts the light grey (‘Moon Grey’) of the superstructure. Other important design solutions bear witness to the great value of this evolution: the new sundeck highlights the yacht’s sporty character, while offering guests additional comfort; the outdoor pilot station has been moved to the central part of the boat and has a very limited size, thereby making room for a large sofa at the bow; and the large uninterrupted hull glazing, featuring a very aggressive design, extends across the yacht, almost like an arrow, from the central part of the boat to the extreme bow. The stainless steel plate bearing the Riva logo, just in the middle of the glazing, is the 'seal’ on this masterpiece and the restyled aft area adds the final touch to the yacht’s dynamic personality. The 88’ Riva Domino Super ’s outstanding technical equipment and solutions perfectly harmonize with its sporty look and offer additional comfort to all guests, making technical operations extremely easy.
