Monaco Yacht Show - Ferretti 880

Wednesday, September 22, 2004

At Monaco Yacht Show, the most prestigious boat show for super and mega-yachts, FERRETTI YACHTS will exhibit a real sea jewel, Ferretti 880, the perfect synthesis between style and technology, comfort and particular attention to details, matching the expectations of the most demanding and refined masters
Ferretti 880 introduces a new approach to experience a high-class motor boating through wide and luxury spaces, a preserving atmosphere and matchless performance. In perfect harmony with the Being Ferretti philosophy, love of the sea and the search for aesthetic detail are perfectly combined with avant-garde technology in the new sophisticated devices with which the Ferretti 880 is fitted: NAVIOP and ARG.
The NAVIOP system is a software that allows continuous monitoring, including via SMS, of alarm situations (windows, doors, video cameras and smoke detectors) and also yacht management (electrical system, pumps, tank levels, etc.). The ARG (Anti Rolling Gyro) system is the exclusive gyroscopic anti-rolling system designed for the Ferretti Group by Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, which cuts the movement caused by waves by over 50%.

While still maintaining a recognizable "family design", the new Ferretti 880 offers a perfect balance between the classic lines typical of the FERRETTI tradition, and design innovation. The pure and elegance simplicity of its external lines repeats itself in the design of the windows stretching down toward to the prow which follow FERRETTI's "leit motiv", offering shipowner a "full immersion" view of the sea. The clear cut lines which define the flying bridge allow one to imagine wide spaces for outside living, even though the external design's grandeur is softened by the superstructure's more "flattened", aggressive lines, almost as if it were to cleave the air.

The major design effort undertaken by Studio Zuccon International Project and the Engineering Division of FERRETTI YACHTS can be recognized in wide flying bridge, where the different "islands" constitute an invitation to spend sunny days and relaxing times. Cruising is made more comfortable thanks to a large corner sofa located near the pilot-house, accompanied by a coffee table. In this area, separated from the rest of the bridge to create more privacy, we find a second descent to the lower bridge in addition to the main one with access to the cockpit. The horse-shoe-shaped sofa can seat 8 persons around the table for an open-air lunch. A large round tub with positioned hydro-massage, located in the center of the large sunbathing platform where guests can comfortably chat with those seated as well as those having a hydro-massage, can also be requested.

A cocktail bar area has been carved out at the back of the co-pilot house, equipped with a refrigerator and grill, to enjoy a totally relaxing and refreshing drink. On the flying bridge next to a motorbike that can be covered, a large tender can be placed, both easily launched thanks to a davit that is elegantly hidden by fly lines. A second motorbike can be stowed inside the aft garage. This is a large bay which, once opened, provides an enormous swim platform. When closed, however, the garage is "hidden" thanks to an elegant design which maintains the purity of the boat's external profile.

The cockpit was designed to house a large round table, providing room for 8-10 guests. From the cockpit we enter the large salon, which offers a pleasant area for conversation with two comfortable sofas and some armchairs situated on both sides of the boat. The other part of the living room is dedicated to a dining area with a large table which comfortably seats 8 people. The large plasma TV has an "electric pop-up mechanism", a system already adopted on some new models of the FERRETTI YACHTS line. On the main bridge towards the prow, the spacious kitchen is located, including a central peninsula for easy food preparation as well as a quick breakfast. With extra attention to the shipowner's and his guests' privacy, the piloting area is completely isolated from the daytime area. There is also a day bathroom, located on the side of the stairs going down to the lower bridge, useable by guests in the living room.

The sleeping area will surely surprise the shipowner and his guests, with its four comfortable cabins and 5 bathrooms with which the Ferretti 880 is equipped.
Indeed, in our design efforts and the structural solutions we've adopted there are no compromises. As with all yachts in FERRETTI YACHTS' product range, the livability of spaces dedicated to the cabins have been entrusted to architects and engineers with the aim of finding original solutions to ensure comfort during the cruise. This is, indeed, the big difference that makes FERRETTI yachts really unique and matchless.

Situated at the boat's center, the shipowner has his very own suite with walk-in wardrobe, located behind the bed between the two bathrooms.

One bathroom has a large shower, while the other has a comfortable bath; both enjoy greater privacy thanks to a hall that separates the two entrances. A beautiful vanity for the lady and a love-seat complete the cabin's furnishings. The VIP cabin is at the prow, with a bathroom equipped with a large shower, a walk-in wardrobe and two small facing armchairs, on the sides of the large double bed. The other two guest cabins each have two parallel single beds and private bathrooms with large showers, in addition to a comfortable closet in each room. Finally, for the crew, with entrances independent of the cockpit, there are a private cooking corner and dinette and two very comfortable cabins both with closet and bathroom with shower.

Regarding performance, the new Ferretti 880 has two MTU 2000 CV motors, chosen in order not to disappoint clients' expectations for this type of super yacht. It is possible to reach a cruising speed of 27 knots, while maximum speed is 30 knots.
