Ferretti Yachts 591: perfect balance between performance and comfort
mercredi 14 septembre 2005
The Ferretti 591 has a sleek profile and the large side windows that make Ferretti yachts stand out wherever they are in the world. Based on the FY590, the 591 is a reinterpretation of its design, featuring lighter and more contemporary fittings, while retaining the strengths that have made this such a successful model.
A product of the well-established partnership between Studio Zuccon International Project, which was responsible for the superstructure and interior layout, and the Ferretti Group Engineering Division, which designed the propulsion and hull, the 591 is a perfect mix of design and performance.
The external layout provides wide space for enjoying the sea and sun. On the flying bridge there is a large sun-lounge in front of the table next to the fridge and grill area, and a comfortable chaise-longue alongside the pilot-house. On the after deck an easy-to-use folding table can seat up to six people.
The main novelty of the 591 is in the interior, which has been totally redesigned in terms of wood finishes and upholstery. The furniture in the galley and the cabins is in opaque oak with wengé trim, while the bathrooms are all in wengé wood. The light-coloured woods and sofas make the interiors extremely bright and spacious, while the wengé trim adds an extremely sophisticated touch.
The immediate impression on entering the lounge is one of a big space and comfort. The traditional sofa with extending table and the corner armchair make a very comfortable dining area and conversation corner. A second circular dinette located next to the pilot-house, a comfortable place to relax while moving, is also an ideal place for talking while taking part in navigation. A few steps lead down to the fully-fitted functional galley, and from here to the fourth cabin, designed for the crew, but just as comfortable. Another crew cabin can be fitted out next to the engine room in the stern.
Below deck the 591 can host up to 6 people, in two cabins with double beds and one cabin with twin beds, all with their own en-suite head and separate shower. In terms of size and space, the master cabin located in the centre of the yacht does not differ greatly from the VIP cabin. The possibility of having two double cabins on a yacht less than 60 feet in length is a great advantage that has proved popular with the public, which has shown that it recognises the potential of the design solutions adopted by Ferretti Yachts.
The third cabin on the 591, with its twin beds, is very comfortable to spend time in, thanks to the careful way the yacht has been designed. The space has been used in such a way to incorporate a cupboard for storing clothing and travel bags.
In terms of performance, the Ferretti 591 can be fitted with 2 900 or 1100 MAN engines, which provide a cruising speed of 30 knots and a maximum speed of 34 knots.
